I have a machine running OSX and a win network. I have some hidden shares (i.e. \\blah\share$ ) that I need to access from the mac.

Then login as a Windows user on the box. I'll see if there is anything that Samba can do about a hidden share. But I'm thinking that Apple disabled this ability with their smbclient.
What version OSX you on?
